Scheduling Timeline
January 8
Current SPHS students (Rising 10th - 12th Grade) will review instructions for entering course requests in Student Portal during advisory.
January 10
Severna Park High School Counselors visit the rising 9th grade students in their math classes at Severna Park Middle School to provide course options and scheduling instructions.

Scheduling Night for all parents and students.

January 12 - January 26
PowerSchool Student Portal App will open for students to enter course requests.
January 27

PowerSchool Student Portal will CLOSE for all students. ​
February. Students will not be able to edit or change course requests themselves after this date.

February - Entire Month
Current high school students (Rising 10th-12th grade) will meet with their assigned School Counselor for course advising. All course requests entered by the student will be reviewed with the School Counselor and any adjustments can be made at this time.

March/April
Course Verification information will be distributed to all students.
This will confirm the classes students have requested -- this is not a copy of the schedule.
This will be the last opportunity to make any changes to your following year's course requests.

April through The First Day of School
BLACK OUT PERIOD
No schedule change requests can be made.
SPHS Administration and Counselors work on determining class periods, assigning teachers, building the master schedule and building individual student schedules. In order to be equitable to all students, this time is blacked out for changes in order to fulfill every students' initial course requests as best as possible. Please remember that not every course request may be granted and alternates may need to be used.

The First 10 Days of School
Students will receive a copy of their finalized schedule on the first day of school.
At that time, if any changes need to be made, students will need to see request a change through Mrs. Chang via BrightSpace. during the first 10 school days.
